In our commitment to be all things Teams, we have built a practice dedicated entirely to Adoption & Change Management. In our methodology we subscribe to a process that takes our clients through three phases:
Skipping any one of these steps can hamper your results, but in our experience above all else, envisioning is important for the long term, broad organizational success of teams. So why do so many organizations skip the envisioning process and just "turn it on"?
Mainly, because there is a lot of confusion around what envisioning means, and furthermore, what goes into it.
Envisioning is a much cooler (thanks marketing) term for planning. To complete the envisioning phase, you should have a detailed plan for: Change Scope & Objective, Prioritization of Scenarios & Personas, Stakeholder Engagement, Communications, Training, Measurement, and Enforcement.
While there are many steps in the envisioning phase, we think that magic ingredient is identifying and prioritizing business scenarios. It is this step in the process that makes it real for both teams and individuals in your organization, because it makes it real and helps them see the benefits in their every day work.
They are targeted goals that you want to achieve as a team or individual. Identifying and defining your business scenarios translates to how Teams (or any new technology) can address challenges and achieve business goals.
As you identify your business scenarios keep the following best practices in mind:
PRO TIP: If you aren’t getting the information you need, host a workshop to delve deeper into current challenges, strategies and goals.
